Brushfire Fairytales - Album Design

As a need of necessity, I created my own Brushfire Fairytales album/cd, because I was too poor to pay for the original.

It’s Friday night, and I’m waxing nostalgic in the office. I was digging through some old boxes, and found some old album designs I created.

Dude, only the front image is “similar”. (I don’t know why he’s so squat, I’m thinking the software was husky.) The rest of the album was my own creativity.

I wanted to showcase the friendship in making the album with the back cover.

I always forget album the album “titles” when I first experience the groove and rhythm. When I crafted the text on the back, I wanted the flow and fun and groove and meld of the music in the photo, but still be legible.

Is this a Type O Negative album back cover? Oooh, it rained on the cover, he must be so anxty.

I’m not sure what the interiors are like on the original. Not many record stores let me look through album sleeves in these technological days.

* The lens flare is in the original Johnson photo.

I found a few photos from the recording sessions, and thought they would have a nice visual groove to the amazing album.

The detail even extends to the 1/4” interior spine that most people don’t notice.
Though, I needed the hinge to not be an obstruction to the casing.

Not bad after 13 years in storage!

Jack may not know me, I’m sorry I didn’t pay full price for his album either.

Thank you Jack Johnson for making an inspiring album that helped me create my own package for.
